Please check if the explanation is right

    Hi,
They let many employees go because of falling profits.

Does this mean they made them leave their job and didn't expect the employees to come back to work again?

Should I say 'leave their job' or 'leave their jobs'?

    Thanks in advance.

'let go', referring to the work situation, means to dismiss from a job', so what you have written is perfect.

Should I say 'leave their job' or 'leave their jobs'? I think you can figure this out. Remember that "their" is a plural pronoun and that each person has his or her own job. So is it one job or several jobs?

    Thanks in advance.
    You're welcome!

    To me, here's my opinion!

leave their job, if all have the same job.
leave their jobs, if each has different job.
