    of even consistency?

    Is there a more condensed way to say "of even consistency"?
    Because I want to say "The clay is thin and of even consistency."
    But if I said it this way, it would seem pretty akward...

    I think it sounds fine.
    You can also try uniform/smooth/clean/slick in texture .

    A mixture, suspension, etc. of even consistency is HOMOGENEOUS, a term commonly used in technology of materials.

    Yes, it's a technical term though, so in an informal setting it may just sound funny. But in a lab report you can safely use the term 'homogeneous' as the most accurate.
    '...has uniform texture' sounds great to me, too.
