    Cool sponging

    hi,

    does the term: "lazy kids sponging off them" mean something? what does the author mean by "sponging"?

    "Sponging off of" means to take advantage of someone's generosity.

    A 32-year-old who still lives in his parents' house and eats their food and doesn't pay any rent is sponging off of them.

    A sponge soaks up everything and gives nothing back.

    "Stop being a sponge" means to tell a person to quit using other people.
