    She or she hers?

    Why the second sentence below is incorrect:
    Either he is going to have to change his mind or she hers.
    Either he is going to have to change his mind or she.

    'Hers' is a possession pronoun, but 'she' is a subject pronoun.

    E.g: My car and hers are blue. means her car.

    .......but you would most likely hear people say:

    Either he is going to have to change his mind or she is.

    Yes, in this case it's different, Means Either, She is going to change her mind as well.


    Which is what he has meant.
    Either he is going to have to change his mind or she is.

    The first sentence is a shortened version of this:

    Either he is going to have to change his mind or she is going to have to change hers.

    The second sentence is incomplete: ...or she what?
