    Apostrophe or not?

    Hi one and all,

It's been a while since I last posted a question to the forum. I have also moved form Denmark to Sweden, so there has been a lot of activity in my life this past 12 months.

I am currently translating an ad for a company and I am 98% certain I know what I am doing but I'd love some confirmation.

The caption reads: "15 years' experience in the field of communications".

I realize I could write "15 years of experience in ..." but am I not correct in adding the apostrophe when omitting the preposition of?

I hope you're all doing well.

    Take care,
    Bill

    Re: Apostrophe or not?

'15 years' is a descriptive qualifier for 'experience', in the same way 'great' would be. It does not possess it.

Thanks for your help. I'll omit the apostrophe.
