    is or are?

    Hi,

I am trying to understand if is or are is the correct form to use in thethe following sentence: "Using online services is/are getting more and more popular."

Which word in the subject decides this?

Many thanks for your help. Cara-angel

Or you can say, "Online services are getting more and more popular."

Are you trying to emphasize the increase in the use of online services or the increase in the number of these services?
