"She backed me down when we both had a competition"

    Could mean:

    1. She backed down when we were both in the competition. (she dropped out of the race or competition)

    or

    2. She backed me in the competition (She supported me when I was competing in the event)

    Thanks for your reply Susiedqq.

"She backed me down when we both had a competition". Is the statement correct? Because I came to know that "Back down" means withdraw or move backwards from a position. So, in this statement, she forced me to withdraw from the competition. Is this the meaning for the statement. Sorry for the confusion.

It would be really helpful if I get the explanation.

    Thanks
