what will i do in my british accent while the school principle is american?
Do not worry about your accent, for a start. Spend the week practicing your speaking by reciting written texts out loud. Try to think what questions your interviewer will ask and work out what you will say in reply so that you do not have to stop and think in the interview.
Yes - Better to ask her to speak more slowly and clearly than to misunderstand an important comment or question. You can always start off by saying "Please, if you find anything I say difficult to understand, stop me and ask me to repeat what I have said." That makes it clear that you are aware of differences in speech.
