    it's getting harder...

Hi again! Is getting necsessary in expressions based on
it's getting harder to [do smth.]
Can I say, for example, "With every day it is harder and harder to stand his jokes." ?
    Thanks a lot!

You certainly could say that, but unfortunately a native speaker would probably manage to put a "get" in there somewhere!

"With every day it gets harder and harder to stand his jokes."

    Re: it's getting harder...

    Dear b.a.d.:

"With every day it is harder and harder to stand his jokes."

    This is a fine sentence.

Some people might also say, "With every day I find it harder and harder to stand his jokes."

    Best wishes,

    Petra

    Re: it's getting harder...

    Colloquially:
Every day, it gets harder and harder to stand his jokes."

Omit the 'with' in 'with every day'
