    could you please tell me whether there is a difference between "possible" and "contingent"?

    Re: meaning

    So what's the difference between "possible losses" and "contingent losses" or "possible impacts" and "contingent impacts"?

    Re: meaning

    Wouldn't it have been better to ask that straight off!?

    Re: meaning

    I know I should have asked "what is the difference" and NOT "whether there is a difference", but I intentionally didnīt give specific examples because I wanted a general answer to a general question. Hope there is someone who can give me that answer instead of analysing my question

    Possible = capable of happening.
    Possibility = potential.
    Contingent = dependent.
    Contingency = alternative.

    -It's possible to skateboard down the Guggenheim Museum spiral, but doing it contingent on having a skateboard.

    -The possibility of surviving a fall from an airplane in flight is contingent on wearing a parachute.

    -If getting into the vault wasn't possible, she had a contingency plan.

    Hope that helps!

    Thanks a lot! Actually, I used a dictionary, but it was not that helpful as your answer

    Re: meaning

    OK. So now tell us, what's the difference between "possible losses" and "contingent losses"; and "possible impacts" and "contingent impacts"?
