    Arrow "line in a song"

    Good morning!
As I was listening to the radio, I came across a song. I could not understand the phrase "..... and the cat's in the cradle....".
I could not make any inference from the other lines and would really appreciate the enlightenment.
    Thank you very much

And the cat's in the cradle and the silver spoon
Little boy blue and the man on the moon
    When you comin' home dad?
I don't know when, but we'll get together then son
You know we'll have a good time then

I always assumed it referred to the children's games of cats cradle, Cat's cradle - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia.

    Harry Chapin wrote:

Little Bo Peep and the man in the moon...."

These are all references to English-language children's songs and whatnot.

    Google nursery rhymes.

No, it was the late Harry Chapin: Cats In The Cradle Lyrics by Harry Chapin

Oh thanks for the correction, Charlie. It sure sounds like Cat.

No prob. I got the words wrong, though. It's Boy Blue, not Bo Peep.

Just try to get anything right anymore!...
