    I prefer to drink tea than coffee


    Is this sentence correct?

    I think it works, but usually we use to instead of than with prefer. Try:

    I prefer drinking tea to coffee.
    I'd rather drink tea than coffee.

    I prefer to drink tea than coffee. This sentence doesn't work. Here are two possible ways to say what you want to say:

    I prefer tea to coffee.

    I would rather drink tea than coffee.
