    scan

    The software allows you to scan photographic images on your personal comptuer.

    I'm not not sure whether it means looking at pictures on the computer or scanning pictures with a scanner. I would be very grateful if any one could help me.

    You're right, it is ambiguous, as most technical manuals are. Probably they would not use the verb "scan" without a scanner, however.

    Yep. It's bad writing. It should say "onto," not "on."
