    Is "Self-Recommendation Letter" Good English?

    Hi, Teachers,

I wonder if "Self-Recommendation Letter" is correct English?

I googled for the term and found that it's mostly used in China. Unlike in Western countries where recommendation letters are usually written by others, Chinese people usually write a letter to Human Resource officers to recommend themselves, hence its name. Given this function, is this term correct? Thanks:)

It is okay in terms of English grammar, but we would never use it, and would never write one, because we would find it absurd and redundant. The letter we write HR offices is a Covering Letter or Cover Letter.
