    It is incomplete, the preceding verse would be needed for a full translation. It means "....is to be with you so that I can live."

    Aww, thanks for asking, SFL, I'd love to learn them all, but for the moment, I just know the major Romance languages (Spanish, Italian, Portuguese, French), and a wee little bit about some others I love (German, CatalŠn, Cantonese, Mandarin). If only there was enough time, eh? And thank you too, Charlie... but my graduate studies were done in French lit, so Joyce is out of my area, thankfully. It's rather difficult.
