    invitation

    Dear teachers,

    Please read the sentence:

And young people have become far more causal in inviting friends as well as relatives to meals. They will usually make a few hours'_________
    a. notice b. invitation
The key is 'a'. Could you please explain why 'b' isn't correct?

Looking forward to hearing from you.
    Thank you in advance.

    Hi Soup,
Thank you very much for your explanation.

Does it mean when we can take a few hours to give notice? If it is why?
Looking forward to hearing from you.
    Thank you in advance.

    Re: invitation

We don't- the few hours refers to the distance between the time of accepting/declining and the event.
