    Smile Use of Hyphen here.

    Hello,

Two hyphen are seen in below setence. Can anybody discribe me what the use of it here?
Usage of the same is as like using commas as I mentioned in example B ?
    please help.

    A. It seems many fans - some who had tickets but many without - were angry when the stadium gates were shut.

    B. It seems many fans, some who had tickets but many without, were angry when the stadium gates were shut.
    Tks

    Re: Use of Hyphen here.

    • As a substitute for parentheses or commas in an attempt to clarify meaning or place emphasis, especially for a series within a phrase.
    • to avoid ambiguity which would result if the hyphen were omitted
