    mixed tenses

    Is it incorrect to say

"I have truly enjoyed and value the experience I have had...."?

Because I have enjoyed and continue to value the experience

Is there a better way to say this?

Does it need to be two separate sentences?

Do you mean 'experience' as in 'the emotional experience' of working with such wonderful people; or the knowledge and skill acquired over a period of time, gained in working there?

    Re: mixed tenses

I suppose both- that I have enjoyed the experience (working with wonderful people, etc...) and that I value the experience (knowledge and skills gained, etc...)

    Re: mixed tenses

The use of the present perfect makes this harder, I think.

I enjoyed and continue to value -- the experiences are over

I have enjoyed and will continue to value -- the experiences are either still continuing or are very recently completed.

This is just how my ear seems to prefer them. I don't know that it's a hard and fast grammatical rule.

    Why not say that:

I have truly enjoyed working with such wonderful people, and value the experience I have gained.
