    Have a look at these examples and see if you can see a pattern;

    I'm angry because she lied to me.
    because + subject+ verb
    Because is a conjunction which connects 2 independent ideas.

    I'm angry because of her lying to me.
    because of + object

    I'm happy because they called
    I'm happy because of them

    He'll never get the job because he's to lazy.
    Because of his laziness, he'll never get the job.
