    loved ones

    Hi!

The term "loved ones" means "the people who are loved by you", right?

Okay, then who are these people? I mean, only your boyfriend/girlfriend, husband/wife can be called as "loved ones". Or it can be referred to anyone who is loved by you. Like your family members, your close friends, etc. ??

What is your opinion? Many thanks!

That's an interesting question. To me (a native speaker of English) it means one's parents, children, and siblings. That is, family members.

I'd say anyone you feel a true sense love for, whatever type of love it is: as a parent, child, sibling, spouse, friend, etc.
