    could you please tell me whether the word "preserve" is correctly used and makes sense in the following sentence:

    In the course of the inheritance proceedings, the administrator shall take measures necessary to preserve the estate of the deceased. In this regard, the administrator is entitled to dispose of the estate and accounts of the deceased and deal with banks and other individuals and legal entities.

    Re: correct?

    I believe 'protect' is better or rather suitable here.
