Re: please help me check exercises

    thank you so much!
    Great! I understand:
To call at = to stop
" worn out" is an adjective : too old or damaged to be used

.*Give the correct form of the words in brackets.
It’s a marvelous idea for children to do some cooking at an early age. In the bracket 2 , why don't we use " preparation"?

    5. Fill each gap with one suitable word

What do you think about these?
    (4) back
    I think "back" is better
    (8) windows
Why didn't the author check the windows before she checked the boot? She is more likely to think that the children had climbed out of the windows than to think that they had escaped from the boot.
    (9) their.
I think their or the could also be correct.
    (13) of
be sick (and tired) of (doing) sth also be sick to death of sth
spoken: to be angry or bored with something that has been happening for a long time
    (14) on
sit in the table, sit on the chair,... So what about "sit on the driver's seat"?
    (15) trying
"I sat there and tried to stop trembling" but "I sat there, trying to stop trembling"
    (19) it
The children crawled behind the back seat. How could the children in the car crawl behind the author while she was away going to the shop?

"of" is missing in the context, I mean "love taking part in the ______ of their meals". Therefore, it should be preparation. Right?
