    drain on family time

Can you please explain the following sentneces? I am not sure what it mean exaclty. The sentence is discussing the work and family relationship.

Researhcers point out that the drain on family time is significantly related to work-family conflict with an escalation in conflict as the number of family members increase.

    Re: drain on family time

Researhcers point out that the drain on family time is significantly related to work-family conflict with an escalation in conflict as the number of family members increase.

Researchers point out that the reduction in the amount of time a family spends together is a related to too little time, due to work. This causes a conflict between family members. Plus, there is an increase in this conflict when there are many family members, all competing for limited family time.
