I got this sentence in the net:
I would tell you after last call, but by then I've forgotten the question.
This use of 'would' is clear, (After the call I thought or intended or decided to tell you, however, I forgot and therefore you were not informed)
My question is: Is there any other way(s) to express the same thing?
I would tell you after the last call, but by then I (had) forgot(ten) the question.
