    'well' comes before 'he' in the above sentence.
    I think it's a inversion. but I don't understand the word order.
    because I think that verb or modal verb comes before subject in a inversion.
    Could you expalin the word order of 'well he may'?

    You have to consider the source. That quote sounds like something Shakespeare wrote. In that case, it is appropriately written.
