    Re: American and British pronounciation

Some sites here might help: Dialects of English - ESL Web Directory - UsingEnglish.com

The International Dialects of English page there might help and Speech Accent Archive gives you many examples of people with different pronunciations reading the same text.

    Re: American and British pronounciation

    See here

advertisement - definition of advertisement by the Free Online Dictionary, Thesaurus and Encyclopedia.

I typed in 'advertisement' as an example.
On the left-hand side you can see the American and the British flag. Click on them, and you can listen to the pronunciation.

Did you turn on the loudspeaker? (I tend to forget it sometimes, and then wonder why I can't hear anything )
