    Fever blisters have come up on my lip.

    There are fever blisters on my lips. [The subject - "there" - is in this sentence a pronoun.]

    Fever blisters have come up on my lip.
    I would not say it this way; it sounds a bit odd to me. Not screamingly wrong, but rather odd. Something like one of the following would sound better to me:

    • Fever blisters have appeared on my lip.
    • Fever blisters are appearing on my lip.
    • I have fever blisters on my lip.
    • I've got fever blisters on my lip.
    • I'm getting fever blisters on my lip.

    ...and with any luck at all, I'll never have to say any of them.
