    it was every day that

    It was every day that we used the topic in class.
    This sentence comes from a webpage.

    Do you native speakers use a cleft sentence like this? That is, do you emphasize 'every day' in sentences? It sound strange to me.

    You can say things like...

    "It was just yesterday that she learned about the concert."

    "It was that very night that Jim met Barbara again"

    ...for emphasis.

    I'm not sure about every day though, because the idea is to emphasise a specific time.

    You could say "It was every day for a week that we used the topic in class before we became sick of it"
