    Question commas in conditional sentences

    hi dear

    i want to know about real cause of using commas in conditional sentences.i know comma acts as pause and it uses after if clause.but i want to know why we use comma ?thanks in advance

    Hello Shabs,

    1. If you do X, Y will happen.

    The comma here denotes a pause; and the pause marks the division of the sentence into two units of sense.
