    While searching the internet, I found out that this proverb seems to be a German one.

    You can use it for any situation.

    Take the first one you can get, because a better seldom comes after.

    Say, you are listening to a band that covers a song of your favorite band. You may say "They aren't as good as my favorite band is. A better seldom comes after".
