Question Usage of 'I' and 'me'

I was hoping I did not have to start this thread but the search did not return much.
So if you guys could help me out, I'd be really grateful.

I wanted to know if "you and me" and "you and I" are interchangeable or if they are used at specific places.

You use you and me in the object positon:
Guess what! Nathan invites you and me to his party!

You use you and I in the subject position:
I tell you - you and I will be as one one day.

    OR

Guess what! You and I have received an invitation to Nathan's party.
I tell you something about you and me- we will be as one, one day.

    I am not a teacher.

Thanks, I was trying to show how they can be used differently, but remain the same sentence.
