    Can you help me to find out what the numbered word indicate? If you see my answer is not correct, please help me.

    This book has been prepared to provide guide to sources of information on engineering and its various brances. 1.It should provide interest to all persons engaged in the engineering profession and 2) those contemplating entering 3) the profession. It is hoped that chapters 1 and 8 on careers and education and training wil assist both advisers and potential students seeking information about 4) these important matters. This book has been arranged according to the Dewely Decimal Classification that is commonly employed in public libraries. Although 5.the work is reasonably comprehensive, there are so many textbooks available that is has not been possible to make specific 6. recommendation. 7. This matter is better dealt with tutors... However, in certain chapters selected books have been mentioned in addition to reference books and the 8.like when it has been felt that9 the details would augument the general 10.information provided.

    2 those - persons/graduates/students
    6 something like coursebook/text, but the wording is strange-recommendation in the singular but not article
    7 the choice of coursebook[s]
    8 the like = similar things, so reference books and other similar sources (journals, etc)
    9 the details from these reference works
