I've just found out about a rhotic accent (I've always used British books). As I understood correct a rhotic speaker pronounces the "r" after vowels in all words. Does it extend to verbs in past tense e.g.:
Sometimes I have difficulty not to pronounce the letter "r" (world, curl and many others) so this would be useful for me.
Thanks in advance.
Rhotic speakers pronounce written 'r' in all positions, while non-rhotic speakers pronounce 'r' only if it is followed by a vowel sound in the same syllable.
