    I can't remember you

    If someone comes up to you and says Hi to you as though he knows you very well, but you can't remember him from anywhere, how do you politely say it to him?

    Sorry! I can't remember you (from anywhere).

    Is the above line fine?

    Hello.

    I wouldn't say: "I can't remember you (from anywhere)."
    I would say: "I think I've met you somewhere before, but I can't remeber your name" or "We must've met before, but I can't place you."
