Would you kindly tell me which is written...

    Hello.

Would you kindly tell me which is written first on an envelope addressed in English: the name of the person to whom the letter is being sent or the name of the place where he is living?

Are there any errors in this sentence?

    Not incorrect but stilted.

    svartnik,

What made you think of the sentence as stilted?

    Well, the sentence itself.

Would you kindly tell me which is written first on an English envelope addressed in English: the name of the person to whom the letter is being sent or the name of the place where he is living address?

    Gramatically, the sentence is fine.

    "an English envelope"
This sounds like an envelop made in England.

Personally, I use a Canadian envelope, but the information on it is written in English.

    1. the name of the person to whom the letter is being sent
    2. the name
If you change #1 into #2, no one will not understand exactly what the name is.
