How do you say it in English?

    Hi teachers!

I'd like to ask someone who lives in an English speaking country.

What do you call the address for text messaging? I checked my dictionary, but I couldn't find it. Also I googled "text messaging address", "texting address", and "text address", but there are much fewer hits than "email address". This seems to show there is another expression that is common. I'd appreciate your reply.

    It's just the address...

    Hi teachers!

    belly_ttt, thanks for your reply.

If it's just called "the address", isn't it confusing? It doesn't seems to be clear whether you're referring to your "address for text messaging" or "email address" or "mailing address".

Unless text messaging works differently where you are, O-P, it's your cellular/mobile number. So it's just "my cell" or "his cell" or whatever.

Jus text me at... or Send a text to...

I've never heard "what address do I send the text to" but rather just "Who do you want me to send the text to?" or "What number can I text him at?" etc.

    Barb_D, thanks for your reply.

In my country, Japan, we have a particular address for text messaging that is diffrent from the phone number. It's like another email address. We can send emails to cell phones. Now I understand my question may have sounded odd to those who use their phone number for text messaging. Thanks again.

That's interesting! I didn't know that. Thank you for clarifying that.

In that case "What's the text address?" or "What's the text number?" sounds good to me.
