    Dear All,
    Which sentence is the best?
    1. It seemed that everyone in Amsterdam spoke perfect English, so we could have spoken any Dutch.
    2. It seemed that everyone in Amsterdam spoke perfect English, so we didnít have to speak any Dutch.
