Is my usage of IS correct or incorrect?

"Repetitive first letters is challenging and shows intelligence!"

My friend thinks it's "Repetitive first letters ARE challenging"...

    Thoughts? Thanks.

Re: Is my usage of IS correct or incorrect?

The English should be "repetitive first letters are challenging and show intelliigence," but what in the world is a repetitive first letter?

Somewhere in the world exists alliterations! :)

use of the same consonant at the beginning of each stressed syllable in a line of verse; "around the rock the ragged rascal ran"
