    The second is wrong; the first is correct-- no comma, however. It is called a pseudo-cleft sentence.

    In addition, try changing the word order, like this,

    You tried is what is more important.
    Subject: You tried
    Linking Verb: is
    Subject Predicate: what is more important


    What is more important is you tried.
    Subject: What is more important
    Linking Verb: is
    Subject Predicate: you tried
