    Usage of 'hear from'

    1) I have heard these expressions being used by many native speakers.
    2) I have heard these expressions from many native speakers.

Are the above two sentences correct and mean the same thing?

    Re: Usage of 'hear from'

Well, both of them are correct. However, the meaning is different. In the first sentence:
    1) I have heard these expressions being used by many native speakers.
You're using passive voice and it means the person has listened to a lot of people using certain expressions recently. You realize it's passive voice because you have the subject+verb to be (being)+past participle(used)+ by(agent).

    In sentence 2:
    2) I have heard these expressions from many native speakers.
It means that the person heard certain expressions 'from' some native speakers. You're using the Present Perfect to talk about some actions that occur in the past, but they still have an effect in the present.
I hope this helps you, See you!
