    Help me,please

    HI,
I have some questions about grammar.

    1) New students may not register for more than 3 classes.
Why can't we use (can) in this sentence? What does may mean in this sentence?

    2) He casually asked‘Can I see that? ‘ , as if he was interested in my drawing.
Why can't we use may instead of can? What does can express?

3)I will be able to finish this assignment tonight.
I can finish this assignment tonight.

What is the difference between these sentences?

    3) What is the difference between may and will when we express possibility? Are they the same?

4)It is necessary that we should leave

Can we omit should and that?<<It is necessary we leave.

5)You can't have finished already .What does this sentence mean? Is it in the present or in the past?

    6) What is the difference between possibility and prediction?
    It might be cold tomorrow.
    It will be cold tomorrow.

7)They have had to wait for 2 hours.
They have to wait for 2 hours.

What is the difference between these 2 sentences?

8)I was glad that my computer could be repaired. Why can't we say could have been repaired ?

"may not" means you are not allowed to. It is not permitted.
"can not" often mean you are physically incapable.

    2) he casually asked‘can i see that? ‘ , as if he was interested in my drawing.
why can't we use may instead of can? What does can express?
you can use "may". "can" is often used instead of "may" when expressing permission. "may" cannot be used instead of "can", as in ability to do something.

3)i will be able to finish this assignment tonight.
i can finish this assignment tonight.

what is the difference between these sentences?
they mean essentially the same thing.

    3) what is the difference between may and will when we express possibility? Are they the same?
it depends on how you use them in a sentence.
"i may do something / i might do something" - there is a possibility that i will do it.
"i will do something" - it is certain that you will do it.

4)it is necessary that we should leave
can we omit should and that?<<it is necessary we leave.
sounds strange. Better: "we have to leave. We must leave. It is necessary that we leave."

5)you can't have finished already .what does this sentence mean? Is it in the present or in the past?
it's in the present perfect. It means "it is not possible that you have finished already".

    6) what is the difference between possibility and prediction?
it might be cold tomorrow. the probability is above 0%
it will be cold tomorrow. the probability is 100%

7)they have had to wait for 2 hours.
up until now, they have waited 2 hours. They have already waited 2 hours.
they have to wait for 2 hours.

from now, they have to wait 2 hours. They have to wait another 2 hours.
what is the difference between these 2 sentences?

8)i was glad that my computer could be repaired. Why can't we say could have been repaired ?
"i was glad that my computer could have been repaired" doesn't make sense. It implies that it wasn't repaired, and there's no reason you would be glad about this. You'd use it in situation like this:
"i was glad that my computer could have been repaired if the technician hadn't dropped it into the sink".
