    seems more difficult than necessary...

    Here he contributes that the fruit of Eastern Monasticism for the West was the rise of Irish monks and missionaries.

    I find this confusing...is there a better way to communicte the same idea?

    What about?
    In this passage, he adds that the origin of Irish monks and missionaries in the West(ern world) stems from Eastern Monasticism.
