    "There are rumors going"

    There are rumors going.

Can anyone break down this sentence for me with respect to sentence elements?

    There is: adverbial modifier (?)
    are is: linking verb
    rumor is: subject complement
    going is: ????

    which one is the subject?

    Thanks a lot

The sentence as written makes no sense.

    "There are rumours going around."
    "It is rumoured that ......................."
    "Rumours abound regarding.................." (whatever)

Yes, you are obviously. I left out the particle of the phrasal verb. Then:

    There are rumours going around.

Regardless, this was not the content of my question, was it?
