    Paragraphs

When writing a paragraph, is it OK to have it looking like the one below:-

    **
Mrs Baker has dropped off her daughter, Amanda, this morning and told the staff members that Amanda has had a disturbed night but seemed to be okay this morning.
Amanda suffers from asthma, however there have been cases of chickenpox in the area also. She asked Amanda's teachers to keep an eye on her, however she would not be available before pick up time if Amanda did fall ill. Mrs Baker had contacted a very close friend of hers, Virginia Long who unfortunately was not on the contact list, to pick Amanda up if need be. Mrs Baker described her friend and provided the centre with Virginia Long's phone number.
    **
The second paragraph ("Amanda suffers"...") is a carry on from the first one but not really a new paragraph, and so there is no space. Is this allowable?

    Re: Paragraphs

Mrs. Baker dropped off her daughter, Amanda, this morning and told the staff members that Amanda has had a troubled night but seemed to be okay this morning. Amanda suffers from asthma. However, there have also been (recent) cases of chickenpox in the area. Mrs. Baker asked Amanda's teachers to keep an eye on her, but informed them that she would not be available before pick up time if Amanda did fall ill. Instead, Mrs. Baker had contacted a very close friend of hers, Virginia Long--who unfortunately was not on the contact list--to pick Amanda up if need be. Mrs. Baker described her friend and provided the centre with Virginia Long's phone number.

If the second part is a separate paragraph, it needs the appropriate indent or double space between. If it is a continuation of the topic of the first paragraph, you can combine them into one paragraph.
