    Is the sentence ok?

    Hello Everyone,

This is the sentence translated by me into English from Chinese. I myself feel it is not proper! I would like to get your opinions here if it is Ok regardless of its original version?

    The sentence is :

We should encourage and support the peaceful way in which international clashes and conflicts are addressed by negotiation and consultation.

    Regards

    Sky

For me this is ok... possibly a better word substitution could be "through" instead of "by".

Many thanks for your time! And your name sounds interesting. And have you ever tasted Chinese meatball. It is delicious!

    Re: Is the sentence ok?

It has the flaw of being too tactful: we are, as an international community, far from deserving of praise for the handling of such conflicts. So, it should not sound so congratulatory of the status quo. Also, English is more sensitive to unneeded repetition. So, I suggest this:

We should encourage a peaceful approach to international military conflicts by addressing them through negotiation and consultation rather than escalation.
