    Dear teachers,

    Would you be kind enough to tell me the interpretation of the expression in bold in the following sentence?

    They shut down all the machines for one week a year.

    for one week a year = seven days a single time every year.

    Yes, each year there is one week (seven consecutive days) during which they turn off all the machines.
