    Helping In An Appositive

    How do i combine each pair of simple sentences into one simple sentence containing an appositive.

    1.John was a young man from laos.He wanted to become an electrical engineer.

    2.He mailed a scholarship application to the East-West Center.It is an educational and cultural institution for Asian and American students.

    3.Three months later,obama received a reply .It was a letter of acceptance to the East-West Center.

    4.He had been awarded a four -year scholarship.It was a total sum of four thousand dollars

    Delete the verb and then the subject. Like this,
    1. John was a young man from laos He wanted to become an electrical engineer.
    Delete the subject-verb:
    2. He mailed a scholarship application to the East-West Center, It is an educational and cultural institution for Asian and American students.
    3. Three months later Obama received a reply, It was a letter of acceptance to the East-West Center.

    4. He had been awarded a four-year scholarship, It was a total sum of four thousand dollars.
