    Exclamation previously

    Hello there.

    Is this sentence correct?
Especially I'm not sure how to use previously.

Our horse-riding club has won all the competitions previously.

    Dear gcman:

If you mean that your club has won all the past competitions, you want

Our horse-riding club has won all the previous competitions.

If you mean that your club used to win the competitions, but something happened and now you don't win them all, you want

Previously, our horse-riding club won all the competitions.

When you use previously you must be sure the reader knows previous to what event or date.

We were not able to take part in the Summer 2008 trials. Previously, we had competed annually.

    I hope this is useful,

    Petra
