    first, second and third round/s

In the first, second and third round/rounds, the underdog was impressive against the champion boxer, but in the last two rounds he was outclassed and knocked out.

Should I use 'round' or 'rounds'. Are there any errors in the sentence?

    Many thanks.

Re: first, second and third round/s

    Hello Tan Elaine

How many 1st rounds are there? The just the one, right?

Ex: In the first (round), second (round), and third round, ...

    Consider,

Ex: First, second, and third world countries. < more than one of each>
Ex: First, second, and third world country. < only one of each>
