How about these for some ideas:Could you please tell me only one sentence on each word, but bear in mind that the children are 6 or 7 years old:
- diving board
- deck chair
1a. The lifeguard jumped into the pool and saved the boy.
1b. The lifeguard saved the drowning boy.
1c. The lifeguard can swim very well.
2a. The boy can dive off the diving board.
2b. Our swimming pool has a diving board.
2c. The girl jumped off the diving board and into the pool.
3a. There is a deck chair near the swimming pool.
3b. The girl is sitting near the pool in a deck chair.
3c. The boy is sitting in a deck chair next to the pool.
This is tough because I don't know what other words these kids might know; however, these seem like rather specialized vocabulary words for kids that young learning English, so I have to assume they have acquired a moderate amount of other vocabulary. If these are beyond the scope of their abilities, then there's always sentences like This is a deck chair and He is a lifeguard, etc.
I would be happy to be of more help to you if there's more information you can tell me about the kids' level of English, or what question formats you are intending to use, such as matching, fill in the blank, multiple choice, etc.
Hope this is helpful.
